Makers of the blockbuster gangster film KGF Chapter 1 released the teaser of its sequel KGF Chapter 2 on Thursday. The upcoming installment also stars Yash’s protagonist in addition to Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, and Prashanth Neel.
KGF Chapter 1 won two National Awards in 2019 for Best Action and Best Special Effects. The period action film is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kirgandur. KGF was one of the most expensive films in the Kannada language and many expect it to be the next Bahubali of Indian cinema.
But before we all get excited about the upcoming film, here are ten things you need to know about KGF Chapter 2.

1. Sanjay Dutt, playing the role of Adhera, will mean Rocky (Yash) in the upcoming film. Though his full look in the teaser was not revealed, we saw Sanjay Dutt’s back in battle armor and Viking inspired hairdo. He is also seen wielding a sword in the teaser.
2. Adhera is the brother of Soyavardhan, the late ruler of Kolar Gold Mines (KGF). In KGF chapter 1, Ramesh Indra played the role of Sooryavardhana. It was his son Garuda, played by Ram alias Ramchandra Raju, who was the villain in the first film. Before stepping into the role, Ram worked as Yash’s bodyguard.
3. The teaser gave us a glimpse of Raveena Tandon, who portrayed the role of political leader Ramika Sen in a red colored saree.
4. Raveena may play a key role in influencing Rocky’s control over the Goldfields of Karnataka in the upcoming film.
5. KGF Chapter 2 is the most expensive Kannada film, with a budget of 100 crores, the film will be dubbed in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi languages.
6. The shooting of the sequel began in August 2019 at the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Cyanide Hills.
7. The film was scheduled to release on October 23, 2020, however, due to a coronavirus pandemic, the release is scheduled for this year.
8. The plot of KGF spans thirty years and traces the changing dynamics of power-hungry politicians and gangsters who want to control the gold business.

Ever since Prashanth Neil’s directorial KGF: Chapter 1 has taken over the screen, audiences across the country have been waiting for its sequel. Kannada actor Yash gained global fame through an action-packed period film.

Makers are increasing the anticipation of the sequel by planting big names like Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon. Now, he announced the release date of KGF: Chapter 2.

The film’s poster was shared on social media by actors and producers, who announced that the film would hit the screens on October 23, 2020. ‘Rocking Star’ Yash wrote on his Instagram handle to share a clip of the poster and wrote that “KGF Empire” was going to open its doors on 23 October.

The red hatted poster shows Rocky’s silhouette seeking permission to enter and also states that KGF: Chapter 2 will be released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.

Sanjay Dutt, who will be playing an antagonist in the film, posted the poster on his social media account and wrote that people may release KGF: Chapter 2 as “and when worldwide”. Munna Bhai actor’s character Adhira is set to play the horn with Yash’s Rocky.
